John Graduated Archbishop Ryan HS class of 1982, played football freshman year and ice hockey freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior years. Attended Drexel University 1982-1985 played ice hockey and Temple University B.S. Statistics 1987 ice hockey '86, '87.
1987 to 1990 worked as an HVAC technician and then joined the SEPTA police department. In 1991 became a police K-9 handler.
1995 became a member of explosive, ordnance, detection unit (EOD or Bomb Squad). In October 2001 following 9-11 I spent 30 days in NYC assisting with the search and rescue operations at ground zero.

2005 diagnosed with cardiomyopathy caused by 'unknown reasons' and had a pacemaker implanted. by 2009 John was forced to retire from the police department due to his heart condition. He began working for the Department of Defense as an Ordnance Analyst in late
2009 Department of Defense, Ordnance Analyst, John just couldn't sit still and hated retirement.
2014 his grandson Avery was born.
2015 diagnosed with chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP). John received 62 plasmapheresis treatments and had to learn to walk 3 times due to relapses.
May 2017 John was asked to conduct a 3 hour seminar for 2nd year medical students. He titled it 'Less is Never More".
2018 John began ice skating and playing golf again. He now rides a bike 10 to 12 miles every day and continues to DO MORE!
